THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:(A) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION IN PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES INCLUDING HIV/AIDS AND SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH, FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION/CUTTING, GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND UNCLEAN DRINKING WATER.(B) THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF HEALTH USING ARTS-BASED TECHNIQUES (E.G. THEATRE, DANCE, MUSIC, STREET PERFORMANCES, CINEMATOGRAPHY, VIDEO, RADIO, TELEVISION, ETC) AS A MEDIUM OF COMMUNICATION.(C) THE USE OF ARTS-BASED TECHNIQUES TO PROMOTE RACIAL AND ETHNIC HARMONY (IE: THE ELIMINATION OF CONFLICT BETWEEN DIFFERENT TRIBAL AND ETHNIC GROUPS) AND THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF RACE AND ETHNICITY, THROUGH THE PROMOTION OF MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN DIFFERENT RACIAL/ ETHNIC GROUPS AND RAISING AWARENESSABOUT NON-DISCRIMINATION OF THOSE FROM DIFFERENT RACIAL/ ETHNIC GROUPS.(D) THE USE OF ARTS-BASED TECHNIQUES TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, THROUGH THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND PRUDENT USE OF RESOURCES.
