Charitable objects

The objects of the CIO are (a) The prevention or relief of poverty anywhere in the world by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare, sanitation, access to justice, nutrition or economic development projects in particular through the provision of grants to charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty; (b) The provision of investment to advance industry and commerce and social enterprise as a means of promoting sustainable development for the benefit of the public by the relief of poverty and the improvement of the conditions of life in socially and economically disadvantaged communities by achieving economic growth and regeneration; Sustainable development means ?development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
