THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:(1) TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AMONG FORMER PERSONNEL OF HER MAJESTY’S ARMED FORCES, THEIR DEPENDENTS AND CARERS IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT, INCLUDING BY:(A) PROVIDING GRANTS, ITEMS AND SERVICES TO SUCH INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY AMONG SUCH INDIVIDUALS; AND(B) PROVIDING SUCH INDIVIDUALS WITH GOODS OR SERVICES WHICH THEY COULD NOT OTHERWISE AFFORD THROUGH LACK OF MEANS.(2) TO PROMOTE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE ARMED SERVICES BY PROVIDING AND MAINTAINING A WOODLAND AS A PUBLIC MEMORIAL TO COMMEMORATE AND REMEMBER THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES OR SUFFERED INJURY, OR PUT THEMSELVES AT RISK OF LOSS OF LIFE OR INJURY, IN SERVICE OF THE PUBLIC.
