(1) THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:(A) TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH OF SUFFERERS OF ASBESTOS RELATED ILLNESSES WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA OF THE SOUTH WEST OF ENGLAND, THROUGH THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, SUPPORT, EDUCATION AND PRACTICAL ADVICE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY TO:(I) HELP IMPROVE THE LIVING CONDITIONS AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF SUFFERERS;(II) DEVELOP LOCAL SUPPORT GROUPS; AND(III) BRING TOGETHER IN CONFERENCE AND WORK IN LIAISON WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS, LOCAL AND OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES AND INDIVIDUALS;(B) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA OF THE SOUTH WEST OF ENGLAND, IN ALL AREAS RELATING TO ASBESTOS RELATED ILLNESSES INCLUDING BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING INFORMATION ABOUT THE HAZARDS OF ASBESTOS IN THE ENVIRONMENT, AND HOW TO OBTAIN REPARATIONS AND OTHER FUNDS AVAILABLE TO SUFFERERS, THEIR FAMILIES, AND CARERS.
