THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF COLOMBIAN STUDENTS FROM SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGEDBACKGROUNDS ("LOWER STRATA NEIGHBOURHOODS") IN THE SUBJECT OF ENGLISH BY SUCH MEANS AS THETRUSTEES DEEM APPROPRIATE, IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING THESE STUDENTS WITH A TRAVEL GRANT TOENABLE THEM TO TAKE PART IN AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMME IN THE UK WHICH THEY COULD NOTOTHERWISE AFFORD AND PROVIDING MENTORING SUPPORT AND ORGANISING ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOPTHEIR CULTURAL AWARENESS AND PEOPLE SKILLS TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS MATUREAND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL.
