(1) THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:(A) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY BY THE PROVISION OF, OR SUPPORTING THE PROVISION BY OTHERS OF, SOCIAL HOUSING IN THE FORM OF ALMSHOUSE ACCOMMODATION FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE PERSONS IN FINANCIAL NEED RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT;(B) THE ASSISTANCE OF INDIVIDUALS RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT, WHO HAVE NOT ATTAINED THE AGE OF 25 YEARS, BY PROVIDING:(I) RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP FOR SUCH INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE PREPARING FOR, ENTERING UPON OR ENGAGED IN ANY PROFESSION, TRADE, OCCUPATION OR SERVICE, BY PROVIDING THEM WITH OUTFITS, OR BY PAYING FEES, TRAVELLING OR MAINTENANCE EXPENSES, OR BY SUCH OTHER MEANS FOR THEIR ADVANCEMENT IN LIFE OR TO ENABLE THEM TO EARN A LIVING IN SUCH WAYS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT; AND(II) FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF SUCH INDIVIDUALS;(C) THE RELIEF EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY OF INDIVIDUALS RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT, WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES CALCULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF SUCH INDIVIDUALS. IN EXCEPTIONAL CASES, THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY GRANT RELIEF TO INDIVIDUALS OTHERWISE ELIGIBLE THEREFORE WHO ARE RESIDENT IMMEDIATELY OUTSIDE OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT BUT IN THE OPINION OF THE CHARITY TRUSTEES OUGHT NEVERTHELESS FOR SUFFICIENT REASON TO BE TREATED AS IF RESIDENT THEREIN OR WHO ARE LOCATED FOR THE TIME BEING IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND (D) SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT, WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND RELIEF OF NEED, AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME.
