8 THE OBJECTS O F THE CORPORATION SHALL BE:-8.1 TO ACQUIRE AND HOLD LAND OR ANY ESTATE OR INTEREST IN LAND OR BUILDINGS FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS OUR CHARTER, AND TO HOLD ACQUIRE OR PROVIDE A BUILDING OR BUILDINGS TO BE CALLED THE CHURCH HOUSE AND TO USE OR LET OR AUTHORISE THE SAME LANDS OR BUILDINGS TO BE USED OR LET BY WAY OF LICENCE, LEASE OR OTHERWISE FOR ANY PURPOSE CONNECTED WITH THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND, OR WITH ANY CHURCH OR BODY IN COMMUNION OR CONNECTION THEREWITH, OR FOR ANY PURPOSE WHICH THE COUNCIL MAY FROM TIME TO TIME CONSIDER TO BE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND, AND IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT BY WAY OF RESTRICTION FOR ROOMS FOR THE MEETINGS OR BUSINESS OF THE ARCHBISHOPS' COUNCIL OR OF THE GENERAL SYNOD OR OF THE HOUSES OF THE CONVOCATIONS OF THE PROVINCES OF CANTERBURY AND YORK OR EITHER OF THEM AND OF THE HOUSE OF LAITY AND OF THE COMMITTEES THEREOF RESPECTIVELY, OR OTHER MEETINGS.8.2 TO PROVIDE A LIBRARY OR LIBRARIES AND ROOMS FOR THE CUSTODY AND PRESERVATION OF RECORDS AND REPORTS AND FOR COMMITTEES OR CONFERENCES, AND OFFICES AND ROOMS OR OTHER ACCOMMODATION FOR OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES OF THE CORPORATION.8.3 SUBJECT TO THE FOREGOING AND AT THE ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF THE COUNCIL TO MAKE GRANTS OF MONEY, PROVIDED ALWAYS THAT SUCH GRANTS SHALL BE MADE ONLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE NATIONAL BODIES OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND.
