THE RELIEF OF FORMER MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE CROWN WHO ARE IN NEED BY VIRTUE OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, SICKNESS, DISABILITY OR THE EFFECTS OF OLD AGE AND WHO ARE: A. VETERANS OF THE D-DAY LANDINGS IN NORMANDY; OR B. VETERANS OF OTHER CONFLICTS IN WHICH HM ARMED FORCES WERE INVOLVED; 2. THE COMMEMORATION AND REMEMBRANCE OF MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE CROWN WHO DIED WHILE ON ACTIVE SERVICE AND THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF PUBLIC RECOGNITION OF THE SACRIFICE MADE BY SUCH PERSONS; 3. THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF WORLD WAR II IN PARTICULAR THROUGH THE STORIES AND MEMORIES OF THOSE PERSONS WHO WERE SERVING IN THE ARMED FORCES OF THE CROWN DURING WORLD WAR II."
