THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF DEAF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE UP TO THE AGE OF 25 IN WALES, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS, PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY:(A) THE PROVISION OF RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES PROVIDED IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE, DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; (B) PROVIDING SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS;(C) THE PROVISION OF TRAINING AND SUPPORT SERVICES; (D) PROMOTING A POSITIVE IMAGE OF DEAF AND DEAFNESS;(E) PROMOTING EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY FOR DEAF YOUNG PEOPLE (AGED 0-25 YEARS) AND BY ASSOCIATION THEIR FAMILIES; AND(F) PROVIDING DEAF ROLE MODELS.
