THE CHARITABLE OBJECT OF ÆTHE GRANGE SHEDÆ IS TO PROMOTE THE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING MEN (PARTICULARLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY OLDER MEN) WHO ARE LIVING WITHIN A 10 MILE RADIUS OF GRANGE-OVER-SANDS FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY AND THE WIDER COMMUNITY. THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH THE PROVISION OF A SAFESPACE/ENVIRONMENT (WARM AND COMFORTABLE PREMISES), WHERE MEN CAN MEET TO UNDERTAKE AND SHARE CREATIVE, PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THEIR CHOICE (EITHER JOINTLY OR INDIVIDUALLY IN A SHARED SPACE). APART FROM THE PROVISION OF SPACE THE OBJECTIVE IS TO INCLUDE FOR THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT AT THE FACILITY TO SUPPORT HOBBIES, RECREATION OR LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIESTHEREBY NOT ONLY ENCOURAGE INTERACTION BUT SHARING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE THAT WOULD ENCOURAGE FURTHER CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH COMMUNITY-BASED PROJECTS.FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ÆSOCIALLY EXCLUDEDÆ MEANS OLDER MEN WHO ARE EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF ONE OF MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: OLD AGE; BEREAVEMENT (DEATH OF A SPOUSE OR ELDERLY PARENT): UNEMPLOYMENT; FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; ILL HEALTH (PHYSICAL OR MENTAL); DISABILITY; RACE; ETHNIC ORIGIN; RELIGION; BELIEF; CREED; SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER REASSIGNMENT;POOR EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS ATTAINMENT; RELATIONSHIP AND FAMILY BREAKDOWN; CRIME (EITHER AS A VICTIM OF CRIME OR AS AN OFFENDER REHABILITATING INTO SOCIETY.
