THE CHARITY’S OBJECTS (THE OBJECTS) ARE: TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE HEALTH OF PEOPLE WITH A TERMINAL OR LIFE LIMITING ILLNESS AND PROVIDE RESPITE FOR THEIR CARERS, PRINCIPALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF NEWARK AND SHERWOOD AND ITS ENVIRONS, BY (I) PROMOTING SUCH SERVICE WITHIN A 15 MILE RADIUS OF NEWARK TOWN CENTRE (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE “AREA OF BENEFIT”) AND, IN PARTICULAR, WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER THIRD SECTOR ORGANISATIONS AND PROVIDE THEM WITH THE NECESSARY SUPPORT, INFORMATION AND SERVICES TO ENABLE THEM TO PURSUE OR CONTRIBUTE TO THE CHARITIES OBJECTS.(II) GENERALLY RAISING AWARENESS OF TERMINAL AND LIFE LIMITING ILLNESS BY VARIOUS WAYS INCLUDING:• EXTENDING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY ABOUT THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WITH A LIFE LIMITING OR TERMINAL ILLNESS• SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF AND MAINTAINING ONE OR MORE INPATIENT AND DAY HOSPICES OR UNITS TO PROVIDE FACILITIES FOR THE DAY/ RESIDENTIAL CARE AND RESPITE FOR THEIR CARERS• SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH LIFE LIMITING OR TERMINAL ILLNESS IN THEIR OWN HOME• PROVIDING FUNDS AND TRAINING FACILITIES FOR HOSPICE STAFF AND FOR SOCIAL SUPPORT• PROVIDING TRANSPORT TO HELP PEOPLE ACCESS THE SERVICES PROVIDED• WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS PROVIDING FOR PEOPLE WITH LIFE LIMITING OR END OF LIFE CARE NEEDS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE OBJECTS:(A) “THIRD SECTOR” MEANS CHARITIES, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISES.(B) “CHARITIES” ARE ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES. (C) “VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISES” ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION.
