The Charity’s objects (“the Objects”) are to:Promote good citizenship, champion community needs, deliver high quality services for those affected by crime, including victims and offenders; encourage greater public participation in the prevention and solution of crime and the support and assistance of those affected or at risk of being affected by crimePromote, and actively engage in, cooperation, coordination, joint action and partnerships with organisations and bodies operating across the social justice sector together with private sector entities and the general public. Promote social inclusion by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society. For the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one of more of the following factors: crime (whether as a victim, offender or otherwise affected thereby);unemployment; financial hardship; youth or old age; ill health (physical or mental); substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs; discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender re-assignment; poor educational or skills attainment; relationship and family breakdown and poor or inadequate housing .Promote, including in partnership with the police and other public sector bodies, the protection of people and property from, and the prevention of, criminal acts.
