Charitable objects

2.1 The Objects of the Charity are:(a) The relief of need hardship and distress of people who are resident in Devon;(b) The education and relief of young people in Devon whose social and economic circumstances would otherwise prevent them for undertaking education or gaining employment; (c) The provision of awards, allowances and grants to enable young people in Devon to undertake education or training; and(d) To provide either financial assistance towards accommodation costs or to provide or assist in the provision of accommodation for the benefit of people who are apprentices and/or trainees employed in the Greater Exeter area, to enable such persons to pursue such apprenticeships or training in circumstances where they would otherwise not be able to do so as a result of being unable to afford suitable accommodation within that area. (e) To further the religious and other charitable work of the Christian churches of any denomination in Devon by meeting the expenses of such work, costs of employment and maintenance of buildings and facilities, and to relieve financial hardship of Ministers or retired Ministers who have served in such churches.
