“(i) To advance the education of the public and to promote research (including the publication of the useful results of such research) in matters concerning narrow gauge railways including, but not limited to, the narrow gauge railway in the County of Cardigan and which extends from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge and is known as the Vale of Rheidol Railway and of other railways or tramways which are or may be worked or operated in conjunction or connection therewith and (without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) matters concerning the history, buildings, tramways, rolling stock, machinery and equipment, the historical operation, the restoration and the current operation of the Vale of Rheidol Railway; (ii) For the public benefit to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for the recreation and other leisure time operation in the interest of social welfare and with the object of improving conditions of life including, but not limited to, the provision of facilities connected with the Vale of Rheidol Railway, its restoration, maintenance and operation and facilities for pedestrian access to the countryside through which the Vale of Rheidol runs; and(iii) The establishment maintenance and support of museums or other institutions partly or wholly devoted to the preservation and public display of railway equipment and relics of historic educational or operational interest.”
