1. THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AND THE RELIEF OF THE INHABITANTS OF INDIA WHO ARE SUFFERING HARDSHIP AND /OR ILLNESS AS A RESULT OF LOCAL OR NATIONAL DISASTER OR BY REASON OF THEIR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CONDITIONS AND ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE INCLUDING BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING ESTABLISHING AND GRANTING AID TO EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS PROVIDING MEDICAL CARE AND AID PROVIDING PHYSICAL REHABILITATION FOOD AND CLOTHING. THE TRUSTEES MAY GRANT RELIEF TO SUCH INHABITANTS THROUGH THE AGENCY OF OTHER CHARITIES. 2. ANY OTHER PURPOSES AS SHALL BE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES IN SUCH SHARE AND PROPORTION AS THEY SHALL THINK FIT AND THE FOLLOWING PROVISIONS OF THIS DEED SHALL TAKE EFFECT SUBJECT TO AND ONLY SO FAR AS CONSISTENT WITH SUCH PURPOSES2. PROVIDED ALWAYS THAT THE TRUST FUND AND ANY INCOME THEREFROM SHALL NOT BE APPLIED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FOR ANY OBJECT OR PURPOSES OTHER THAN THOSE SPECIFIED IN CLAUSE 3.1 ABOVE AND SHALL NOT BE USED FOR THE BENEFIT OF ANY PARTICULAR RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY OR CASTE FOR ANY PURPOSE WHICH IS OF A RELIGIOUS NATURE OR WITH ANY DISTINCTION AS TO CASTE RELIGION RACE CREED OR SEX.
