1) THE TRUSTEES SHALL APPLY THE YEARLY INCOME OF THE TRUST AS A MEMORIAL TO EMMA HOWARD IN AWARDING AN ANNUAL PRIZE TO THE MALTON SCHOOL SIXTH FORM ART STUDENT WHO HAS SHOWN THE MOST IMPROVEMENT OVER THE YEAR. ANY STUDENT SHALL BE CAPABLE OF WINNING THE AWARD WITH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION. IT IS AN AWARD FOR IMPROVEMENT AND NOT JUST THOSE WHO ARE BORN WITH AN ARTISTIC GIFT.2)THE TRUSTEES SHALL ANNUALLY RECORD THE NAME OF THE WINNER OF THE PRIZE ON A BOARD SUPPLIED FOR THE PURPOSE PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED IN A SUITABLE POSITION WITHIN THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS.3)THE MOST IMPROVED SIXTH FORM STUDENT WILL BE CHOSEN BY THE TEACHERS OF ART DEPARTMENT BY USING THE CRITERIA OF MAKING AND JUDGEMENT MADE CLEAR TO THE STUDENTS AT THE BEGINNING OF THEIR COURSE.4) MEMBERS OF THE ART DEPARTMENT SHALL JUDGE IMPROVEMENTS IN TECHNICAL ABILITY BY USING THE METHODS OF ASSESSMENT TO GRADE THEIR PUPILS FOR THE CURRICULUM OF STUDY BEING UNDERTAKEN IN THE YEAR OF THE AWARD.5) IN THE EVENT THAT A DISPUTE SHOULD ARISE OVER THE WINNER THE HEAD OF THE ART DEPARTMENT SHALL ACT AS THE SOLE ARBITRATOR.6)THE WINNER OF THE PRIZE SHALL BE GRANTED, AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TRUSTEE, A SUM OF MONEY FROM WHICH HE OR SHE MAY SELECT SUITABLE EQUIPMENT OR MATERIALS FOR THE FURTHERANCE OF THEIR CAREERS OR ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT. SUCH ITEMS SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE TRUSTEES AND PURCHASED IN TIME FOR THE PRESENTATION OF THE AWARD.7) THE AWARD SHALL BE PRESENTED AT THE ANNUAL ART EXHIBITION OR FAILING THAT SOME OTHER SUITABLE PUBLIC GATHERING DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.
