TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS IN AND AROUND SOUTHERN HOLDERNESS (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE 'AREA OF BENEFIT'), BY ASSOCIATING WITH THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, OTHER AGENCIES AND INHABITANTS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATIONAL OR LEISURE-TIME BY MEANS OF PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING FACILITIES AND BY THE PROVISION OF ADVICE AND WELFARE FACILITIES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; AND TO ESTABLISH A COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTRE AND THE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH A CENTRE; AND TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITY OF SOUTHERN HOLDERNESS IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND HELP MEET, THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY.
