1) The relief of persons who are in need by virtue of financial hardship, sickness or old age; and a. are currently resident in Burton Latimer or who have previously lived in Burton Latimer for a period of not less than five years; and b. are former members of the armed forces or the dependents of such persons; or c. in special circumstances as the Trustees may determine, former members of the armed forces or their dependents who do not fulfil the residency requirements in clause 3 1) a above. 2) The Trustees may relieve persons in need as defined in Object 1 above by: a. making grants of money to them; or b. providing or paying for goods services or facilities for them; or c. providing training or education for them; or d. making grants of money to other persons or bodies who provide goods, services or facilities for those in need. 3) If and in so far as the income of the Charity cannot be applied towards the object specified in 3 1) above, the Trustees may make grants to other organisations whose primary objects are the relief in need of former members of the armed forces and their dependants. 4) For the public benefit to promote the efficiency of the armed forces of the Crown and to advance the education of persons within Burton Latimer: a. To provide memorials to commemorate those who have served in the armed services who were or are resident within Burton Latimer, including the fallen. b. To fund research into the military history of those who have served in the armed services who were or are resident within Burton Latimer. c. To fund the maintenance and preservation of artefacts connected with those who have served in the armed services who were or are resident within Burton Latimer. d. To pay for the provision of educational materials about Burton Latimer servicemen and women for use in schools in Burton Latimer e. To make grants of money to other charities whose aim includes to preserve the heritage of those from Burton Latimer who served in the armed forces 5) The trustees will seek to maintain the real terms value of the original capital assets which the charity held at the time of registration as indexed by inflation and use only funds accruing from interest, dividends and capital gains over and above this for the furtherance of the Charity?s objects. However, where income from assets is insufficient then the trustees may apply the capital at their discretion.
