THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM CANCER AND THOSE IN REMISSION, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY THE FOLLOWING MEANS:(I) OFFERING SUPPORT BY PROVIDING REGULAR MEETINGS WHERE PEOPLE CAN TALK IN A SUPPORTIVE ATMOSPHERE;(II) PROVIDING THERAPEUTIC DAYS IN A RELAXED AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT;(III) PROVIDING PRACTICAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, INFORMATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT(IV) ENCOURAGING DISCUSSION WITH LIKE SUFFERERS MAKING SUGGESTIONS OF WAYS OF COPING BASED ON THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE;(V) PROMOTING AND ENCOURAGING THE LEARNING OF NEW SKILLS BY PARTICIPATION IN CRAFT AND HOBBIES;(VI) INCREASING INTEREST IN THE LOCALITY BY ORGANISING OUTINGS;(VII) INCREASING INTEREST BY LISTENING TO VISITING SPEAKERS, FILM AND RECORDING;(VIII) ENSURING THAT THE CONDUCT AND DELIVERY OF CARE BY THE GROUP'S VOLUNTEERS ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT GUIDELINES OF "THE GOOD PRACTICE RESOURCE PACK" (CANCERLINK);(IX) INCREASING PUBLIC AWARENESS TO CANCER CARE AND THE GROUP BY PUBLICISING THE GROUPS AIMS AND OBJECTIVES, POLICIES AND GUIDELINES.
