TO PRESERVE, RESTORE AND MAINTAIN THE FERNHURST FURNACE AND TO CONSERVE THE NATURAL AND MAN MADE FEATURES OF THE SURROUNDING AREA RELEVANT TO ITS ARCHAEOLOGICAL, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC HISTORY, GEOLOGY AND ECOLOGY; AND2. TO ADVANCE EDUCATION INCLUDING RESEARCH RELATING TO FERNHURST FURNACE AND TO PUBLISH THE USEFUL RESULTS THEREOF.
