(2) TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF THE OPERATION TO CAPTURE VITAL BRIDGES IN NORMANDY, FRANCE, AS A PRELUDE TO D-DAY IN JUNE 1944. (3) TO PROVIDE RELIEF FOR SERVING AND FORMER SERVING PERSONNEL AND THEIR DEPENDENTS WHO MAY BE IN CONDITION OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS IN SUCH MANNER AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT.
