THE PURPOSE AND ACTIVITIES OF THE MUSEUM SHALL BE IN ACCORD WITH THEMUSEUMS ASSOCIATION, MLA (NW) DEFINITION OF SUCH ESTABLISHMENT:THE MUSEUM IS ESTABLISHED TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC WITHREGARD TO THE EVOLUTION, DEVELOPMENT AND ROLE OF POLICING IN THE COUNTY OFCHESHIRE FROM ITS INCEPTION TO THE PRESENT DAY. THE MUSEUM WILL ACHIEVETHIS BY COLLECTING, PRESERVING, INTERPRETING AND DOCUMENTING MATERIAL,EVIDENCE AND ASSOCIATED INFORMATION OF ITEMS RELEVANT TO THE CHESHIREPOLICE AND THE EARLIER BOROUGH AND JOINT FORCES WHICH HAVE BEENAMALGAMATED WITH IT, INCLUDING ITEMS ILLUSTRATING THE LIFE OF CHESHIRE POLICEOFFICERS AND THEIR FAMILIES SINCE 1857 AND ASSOCIATED ITEMS WHICH HAVEHISTORICAL INTEREST.
