THE OBJECTS OF UKIM ARE:3.1 TO ADVANCE THE ISLAMIC FAITH FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATEMENTS OF BELIEF APPEARING IN THE PREAMBLE TO THIS CONSTITUTION BY (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING):3.1.1 PROMOTING KNOWLEDGE AND GOOD COUNSEL IN RESPECT OF THE ISLAMIC FAITH;3.1.2 ENABLING MUSLIMS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM TO PERFORM THEIR RELIGIOUS DUTIES AND MAINTAIN THEIR CULTURAL IDENTITIES.3.2 THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED BECAUSE OF YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE BY (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) PROMOTING EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) AND RELIEVING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, SICKNESS AND POOR HEALTH AMONGST MUSLIM COMMUNITIES.3.3 THE PROMOTION OF RACIAL AND / OR RELIGIOUS HARMONY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY:3.3.1 PROMOTING KNOWLEDGE AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND RESPECT OF THE BELIEFS AND PRACTICES OF DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS FAITHS;3.3.2 PROMOTING KNOWLEDGE AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN DIFFERENT RACIAL GROUPS;3.3.3 ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT DIFFERENT RACIAL GROUPS TO PROMOTE GOOD RELATIONS BETWEEN PERSONS OF DIFFERENT RACIAL GROUPS;3.3.4 EDUCATING THE PUBLIC IN DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS BELIEFS INCLUDING AN AWARENESS OF THEIR DISTINCTIVE FEATURES AND THEIR COMMON GROUND TO PROMOTE GOOD RELATIONS BETWEEN PERSONS OF DIFFERENT FAITHS.3.4 TO PROMOTE JUSTICE, DIGNITY, HUMAN RIGHTS (AS SET OUT IN THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND SUBSEQUENT UNITED NATIONS CONVENTIONS AND DECLARATIONS) AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN SOCIETY THROUGHOUT THE WORLD BY ALL OR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING MEANS: MONITORING ABUSES OF HUMAN RIGHTS; OBTAINING REDRESS FOR THE VICTIMS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE; RELIEVING NEED AMONG THE VICTIMS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE; RESEARCH INTO HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES; PROVIDING TECHNICAL ADVICE TO GOVERNMENT AND OTHERS ON HUMAN RIGHTS MATTERS; CONTRIBUTING TO THE SOUND ADMINISTRATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS LAW; COMMENTING ON PROPOSED HUMAN RIGHTS LEGISLATION; RAISING AWARENESS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES; PROMOTING PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS; PROMOTING RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AMONG INDIVIDUALS AND CORPORATIONS; INTERNATIONAL ADVOCACY OF HUMAN RIGHTS; ELIMINATING INFRINGEMENTS OF HUMAN RIGHTS. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE CHARITY TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE POWER TO ENGAGE IN POLITICAL ACTIVITY PROVIDED THAT THE CHARITY TRUSTEES ARE SATISFIED THAT THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES WILL FURTHER THE PURPOSES OF UKIM TO AN EXTENT JUSTIFIED BY THE RESOURCES COMMITTED AND THE ACTIVITY IS NOT THE DOMINANT MEANS BY WHICH UKIM CARRIES OUT ITS OBJECTS.3.5 TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY (INCLUDING MORAL AND SPIRITUAL) AND SKILLS OF MEMBERS OF SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES OF MUSLIMS IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY, AND HELP MEET, THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY.3.6 THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL NEED AND SUFFERING AMONG VICTIMS OF NATURAL OR OTHER KINDS OF DISASTER IN THE FORM OF MONEY (OR OTHER MEANS DEEMED SUITABLE).3.7 THE RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE OF PEOPLE IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD WHO ARE THE VICTIMS OF WAR OR NATURAL DISASTER, TROUBLE, OR CATASTROPHE BY (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL AND / OR OTHER FORMS OF ASSISTANCE AND MEDICAL AID TO PERSONS, BODIES AND / OR ORGANISATIONS IN AFFECTED AREAS.NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF UKIM FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
