Charitable objects

The objects of the charity (?the objects?) are:1. The advancement of religion through:a. the development of partnership relations between the Deanery of Poole and North Bournemouth in the Diocese of Salisbury in the Church of England and the Church in Wau (see definition below);b. enabling visits between the UK and Wau;c. helping the Church in Wau to build, extend or maintain premises, to pay staff, to acquire or maintain equipment and to maintain a technological presence; andd. financial support for theological training.2. The advancement of education through the purchase of training materials and other equipment, the construction and maintenance of educational establishments, and the training, support and funding of teachers and students.3. The relief of poverty through:a. financial assistance for working and retired clergy and lay members of the Church in Wau; andb. the provision of humanitarian and development aid.4. The advancement of human rights and promotion of racial harmony by encouraging inter-factional understanding and dialogue.5. The advancement of health through the provision of medical resources and through funding and facilitating the training of medical professionals.The principal area of benefit is the Internal Province of Northern Bahr el Ghazal of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, which contains the Diocese of Wau and whose centre is the town of Wau, in the Republic of South Sudan (?the Church in Wau?), and the inhabitants of this area. The Charity may also support these inhabitants in nearby states and in the United Kingdom. For Object 5 the area of benefit is the whole of South Sudan and its people.
