THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:- 1)TO ADVANCE THE SIKH RELIGION AND PUNJABI CULTURE IN PARTICULAR IN ACCORDANCE WITH GUIDANCE AND PRINCIPLES AS LAID DOWN BY SRI AKAL TAKHAT SAHIB - AMRITSAR SAHIB, PUNJAB, INDIA THROUGH THE OBSERVATION AND PROMOTION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI (THE SIKH HOLY SCRIPTURES) AND TEACHINGS OF TEN GURUS AND IN THE TEACHING OF GURMUKHI; 2)TO PROMOTE RELIGIOUS HARMONY BY:- A)EDUCATING THE PUBLIC IN DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS BELIEFS INCLUDING AN AWARENESS OF THEIR DISTINCTIVE FEATURES AND THEIR COMMON GROUND TO PROMOTE GOOD RELATIONS BETWEEN PERSONS OF DIFFERENT FAITHS;AND(B)PROMOTING KNOWLEDGE AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND RESPECT OF THE BELIEFS AND PRACTICES OF DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS FAITHS;3)TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF NOTTINGHAM WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID INHABITANTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATIONS WITH THE OBJECTS OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS; AND 4)TO ADVANCE YOUNG PEOPLE IN LIFE BY PROVIDING A SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT TO NURTURE AND DEVELOP EDUCATION AND BY INTERACTING WITH OTHER EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS TO IMPROVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY IN NOTTINGHAM AND WIDER AFIELD THROUGHOUT THE UK AND ABROAD.
