FOR OR TOWARDS THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT BY WAY OF PAYMENT OF THE WHOLE OR PART OF THE FEES AT THE SCHOOL [PILGRIMS' SCHOOL, WINCHESTER] OF GIFTED CHORISTERS AND QUIRISTERS WHO IN THE OPINION OF THE DIRECTOR OF MUSIC OF THE CATHEDRAL OR THE DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND ORGANIST OF WINCHESTER COLLEGE (OR PERSONS HOLDING THESE OFFICES WHICH SUCCEED OR REPLACE THE SAME) AND WHO IN THE OPINION OF THE HEADMASTER OF THE PILGRIMS' SCHOOL (OR PERSON HOLDING THE OFFICE WHICH SUCCEEDS OR REPLACES THE SAME) SHOW SUFFICIENT ACADEMIC ABILITY OR PROMISE TO BE PUPILS AT THE SCHOOL AND WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE TO BECOME OR REMAIN SUCH CHORISTER OR QUIRISTER PUPILS BY VIRTUE OF THE FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF THEIR PARENTS OR PARENT PROVIDED THAT(A)THE CHOICE OF SUCH BOYS TO RECEIVE A GRANT SHALL BE MADE BY THE TRUSTEES ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE BURSARY COMMITTEE OF THE SCHOOL;(B)THE AMOUNT OF THE GRANT TO THE PARENTS OR PARENT OF ANY SUCH BOY SHALL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TRUSTEES WHO SHALL BEAR IN MIND THE INTENTION OF THE TRUST AND THE NEED OF THE CATHEDRAL AND COLLEGE TO RECRUIT CHORISTERS AND QUIRISTERS OF OUTSTANDING SINGING AND MUSICAL ABILITY.(C)A GRANT SHALL BE MADE WHEN AN APPROPRIATE NEED IS DETERMINED OR ARISES AND NOT NECESSARILY ONLY AT PREDETERMINED INTERVALS (BUT WITHOUT CREATING ANY BINDING TRUST OR LEGAL OBLIGATION) WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT REGULAR AND NOT LESS THAN ANNUAL MEETINGS OF THE TRUSTEES WILL BE HELD. (D)THE BURSARY SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TRUSTEES FROM THE INCOME TO AND CAPITAL OF THE FUND WITH ANY EXCESS REVENUE BEYOND THAT REQUIRED IN GRANT SUPPORT MADE AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT THE COST TO THE CATHEDRAL AND COLLEGE OF MAINTAINING ONE (OR MORE) CHORISTER(S) AND QUIRISTER(S)
