Charitable objects

1. To promote, for the benefit of the public, the efficiency of the police in London and to promote good citizenship and greater public participation in the prevention and solution of crime in the area. 2. To promote for the benefit of the public, in partnership with the police, the protection of people and property from, and the prevention of, criminal acts.3. For the benefit of the public in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Haringey and other districts in London and its surroundings, to reduce the distress, adverse financial impact and disadvantageous effects on present and potential victims and witnesses of crime, traumatic events and other forms of harmful behaviour, as well as on others touched by the distress of those individuals who are in need, in particular by promoting and providing services that provide emotional and practical support.4. To promote for the benefit of the public in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Haringey and other districts in London and its surroundings the provision of services for mediation and conciliation between victims of crime and offenders, with a view to the preservation of public order, and for the preservation and protection of the well-being of such victims and the rehabilitation of such offenders.5. To relieve financial hardship, distress and suffering among victims of natural or other disasters or crises within London and its surroundings, including but not limited to such disasters or crises as are caused by climate change, pandemic, human error or major social unrest, by helping to co-ordinate the distribution of aid, advising on security and health and safety issues and providing such other support or services as the Trustees in their discretion consider appropriate in the circumstances.
