The object is to preserve and protect, for the public benefit, the health and well-being of babies, very young children and their parents in the UK by the promotion of healthy parent-infant relationships in particular, but not exclusively, by focusing on early relationships which are at high risk of, or are already experiencing, difficulties and by:A) Advancing the understanding and importance of parent-infant relationships as part of early child development;B) Supporting the development, growth and sustainability of specialised parent-infant relationship teams across the UK and acting as an umbrella/resource for them; andC) Promoting the training, and research into the awareness, of the importance of early childhood development among health professionals and other professionals involved with early childhood, and actively disseminating information and examples of best practice among these groups.
