Charitable objects

The Objects of the Charity are exclusively for the benefit of the public and are: 3.1 The relief of need of Beneficiaries by providing such financial and other support (including residential accommodation) as the Trustees in their absolute discretion determine. 3.1.1 A Beneficiary is an individual who: 3.1.2 is either: (a) a butcher or drover or a person who is or has been connected in any capacity with the meat trade in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland; or (b) a wife, widow, husband, widower, civil partner, surviving civil partner, son or daughter of: (i) a person mentioned in article 3.1.2(a); or (ii) a deceased person who when alive would have qualified as a Beneficiary under article 3.1.2(a); and 3.1.3 due to limited financial resources requires assistance from the Charity. 3.2 The advancement of education in connection with or relevant to all aspects of the meat trade in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland and allied trades and industries. 3.3 The relief of need and the advancement of education for the public benefit by providing grants as the Trustees in their absolute discretion determine. 3.4 This Article 3 may be amended by special resolution but only with the prior written consent of the Commission.
