Vintage Carriages Trust

To educate, inform and entertain the public through the maintenance of a Railway Museum. In furtherance of this but not otherwise the CIO may: I. Acquire and preserve railway carriages, railway locomotives, other items of rolling stock, associated equipment and railway artefacts. II. Restore and maintain such items, house them and put them on display, loan or hire them so that they may be used if practicable, and make suitable arrangements for their continued preservation as far as possible. III. Sponsor the publication of books, articles etc., containing information about these items and rolling stock and railways generally, and otherwise to promote interest in these subjects.Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
