TO RELIEVE THE STRESSES EXPERIENCED BY CARERS OVER THE AGE OF 18 WHO HAVE CARE NEEDS, AS A RESULT OF DISABILITY, ILLNESS OR AGE WITHIN THE ISLE OF WIGHT (THE CARER MAY RESIDE IN OR WORK IN OR CARE FOR A PERSON WHO RESIDES WITHIN THE ISLE OF WIGHT), IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY:- PROVIDING A CONTACT POINT FOR HELP FOR CARERS OVER THE AGE OF 18;- IDENTIFYING CARERS WHO STRUGGLE TO COPE IN THEIR CARING ROLE;- WORKING WITH OTHER AGENCIES AND CHARITIES TO DEVELOP SERVICES FOR CARERS;- OFFERING CARERS A BREAK THROUGH SUPPORT GROUPS;- GATHERING AND DISSEMINATING INFORMATION RELEVANT TO CARERS ISSUES;- RAISING AWARENESS OF AND PROMOTING THE NEEDS OF CARERS THROUGHOUT ISLE OF WIGHT WITH LOCAL POLICY MAKERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS;- RAISING FUNDS TO ACHIEVE THE ABOVE.
