Charitable objects

The objects of the CIO are the advancement of public education in the arts, and in particular (but not exclusively) the arts of music, drama and poetry by(1) the promotion of music by British composers through regular festivals, concerts, recitals, lectures, exhibitions, recordings, broadcasts and other events anywhere in the United Kingdom and overseas;(2) the provision of assistance to or collaboration with other organisations in the promotion of music by British composers anywhere in the United Kingdom and overseas, provided that this is not to the detriment of clause 3(1) above;(3) any other wholly charitable means as the Directors (as trustees and hereinafter called "the Trustees") shall decide, provided that this is not to the detriment of clause 3(1) above.Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with applicable current statutes or regulations.
