THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING CHILDREN IN THE "REGION" (AS DEFINED BELOW) IN PARTICULAR BY: (A) INITIALLY, SUPPORTING AND IMPROVING THE EDUCATION, HEALTH AND LIVES OF THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING CHILDREN AT THE MANDALAY SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF IN MYANMAR AND OF DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING CHILDREN ATTENDING OTHER SCHOOLS IN THE REGION; (B) PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT AND TO AUDIOLOGISTS TO ENABLE THEM TO TRAVEL TO THE REGION TO TRAIN TEACHERS OF THE DEAF IN THE REGION IN THE USE OF AUDIOMETERS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT AND TO CREATE AUDIOGRAMS FOR THE DEAF CHILDREN; (C) PROVIDING HEARING AIDS FOR THESE CHILDREN, BASED ON THEIR AUDIOGRAMS; (D) HELPING THE TRAINED TEACHERS IN THE REGION TO CREATE A NETWORK OF TRAINED INDIVIDUALS IN THE REGION BY TRAINING OTHERS IN THE TECHNIQUES AND METHODS USED IN OPERATING THE AUDIOMETERS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT; (E) ESTABLISHING AND SUPPORTING "SCHOOL TO SCHOOL" LINKS BETWEEN SCHOOLS IN THE UK AND SCHOOLS IN THE REGION.THE “REGION” IS COMPRISED OF THE FOLLOWING SOVEREIGN STATES:A)BANGLADESHB)CAMBODIAC)INDIAD)MYANMAR (FORMERLY BURMA)E)THAILAND, AND SUCH OTHER STATES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY APPROVE FROM TIME TO TIME.
