3. ObjectsThe objects of the CIO are1. The advancement of education for the benefit of the public in Crowland and the surroundingareas by the provision of library services.2. To further or benefit the residents of Crowland and the surrounding areas, withoutdistnction of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy andmaternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation (or other protected characteristicsdefined by the Equalities Act 2010 or future amended legislation) by associating together the saidresidents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort toadvance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation andleisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for thepurposes which are not charitable.
