THE ORGANISATION'S OBJECTIVES ARE:-TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING PEOPLE IN SOUTHWARK AND SURROUNDING AREAS FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED ON THE GROUNDS OF THEIR AGE, DISABILITY, GENDER, ETHNICITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP (IN PARTICULAR, WOMEN)-FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING; IN PARTICULAR, BY PROVIDING A GROUP THAT ENABLES MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES WHO ARE WOMEN, TO INTERACT SOCIALLY IN ORDER TO REDUCE ISOLATION AND PARTICIPATE MORE EFFECTIVELY IN THE WIDER COMMUNITY; AND BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN TO BECOME INVOLVED IN THEIR COMMUNITIES TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES OF SOUTHWARK IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY, AND HELP MEET, THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY. FOR EXAMPLE, BY PROVIDING SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE THAT ENABLES THEM TO IDENTIFY AND DEAL WITH PROBLEMS THAT AFFECT THEM AS MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY; AND BY NURTURING NETWORKING AND THE SHARING OF EXPERIENCE AS PART OF THE LEARNING PROCESS IE TEAM WORKING, PROBLEM SOLVING, NEGOTIATIONS, ASSERTIVENESS AND ADVOCACY.
