THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:(1) TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, IN PARTICULAR BY:A. EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND IN VOCATIONAL SKILLS;B. SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND EVENTS INVOLVING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.(2) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND SKILLS AMONGST THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES IN LONDON BOROUGHS, BY THE PROVISION OF WEEKEND AND EVENING SUPPLEMENTARY EDUCATION, VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR THE UNEMPLOYED, AND CULTURAL EVENTS OF EDUCATIVE VALUE.(3) TO RELIEVE POVERTY AMONG THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES IN LONDON BOROUGHS, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THOSE FROM MINORITY ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS, BY THE PROVISION OF INCLUSIVE LEGAL AND WELFARE ADVICE TO PERSONS UNABLE TO AFFORD PROFESSIONAL FEES, AND BY ENABLING SUCH PERSONS TO ACCESS LOCAL STATUTORY AND VOLUNTARY SOCIAL SERVICES BY THE PROVISION OF AN INTERPRETATION AND TRANSLATION SERVICES.(4) TO PROMOTE HEALTH FOR PERSONS RESIDENT IN LONDON BOROUGHS IN PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROMOTING HEALTHY LIFESTYLES THROUGH THE PROVISION OF KEEP-FIT EXERCISE, SPORTS, RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE ACTIVITIES WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS(5) TO RELIEVE THE ELDERLY IN NEED FROM ABUSE, SOCIAL ISOLATION AND LONELINESS, PARTICULARLY MEMBERS OF THE SOCIALLY OR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES IN LONDON BOROUGHS, AND IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THOSE FROM MINORITY ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS.
