Charitable objects

(1) To establish, operate and maintain a museum for the public benefit, preserving and exhibiting items of historical, cultural, artistic or scientific significance relating to Diss and its surrounding areas.(2) To promote the heritage of the local area by collecting, conserving, documenting, and displaying objects, photographs, documents, and other materials of local interest independently and in collaboration with local charities and organisations.(3) To provide opportunities for public engagement, learning, and participation through exhibitions, talks, workshops, educational programmes, community events and collaboration with local charities and organisations on matters related to the museum’s collections and themes.(4) To undertake and support research into the local history and heritage, and to make the results of such research available to the public.Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with the Charities Act 2011.
