The objects of the CIO are for the public benefit to advance the education of the public in the history of photography, and in particular that relating to W. W. Winter Ltd. the city of Derby and the East Midlands, in all its aspects by any means as the trustees see fit, including through: the presentation of public meetings and lectures; the dissemination of knowledge through appropriate publications and to manage, care for, make accessible and develop the collection of photographic equipment and materials of all kinds.Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with [section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005] and [section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008].
