TO ALLEVIATE THE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP SUFFERED BY THE FAMILIES OF SICK CHILDREN IN THE UK, WHERE THE CHILD'S ILLNESS REQUIRES THEM TO REMAIN IN SPECIALIST HOSPITALS A SIGNIFICANT DISTANCE FROM THEIR HOME FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. THIS WILL BE ACHIEVED, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, THROUGH THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL GRANTS TO HELP COVER COSTS RESULTING FROM THE CHILDRENÆS ILLNESS SUCH AS TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE HOSPITAL AND/OR THE COST TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION NEAR THE HOSPITAL.
