THE CHARITY’S OBJECTS (‘THE OBJECTS’) ARETHE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN EASTBOURNE AND THESURROUNDING AREA BY:-(A) IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, PROMOTING AND STAGING AN ANNUAL LGBT FESTIVAL ANDEVENTS TO PROMOTE EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY;(B) CULTIVATING A SENTIMENT IN FAVOUR OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY IN PARTICULAR THROUGH CELEBRATINGTHE DIVERSITY OF THE LGBT COMMUNITY IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT;(C) UNITING THE LGBT COMMUNITY, TOGETHER WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS, SO THEY CAN FEEL SAFE,WELCOMED AND PROUD TO BE THEMSELVES AT EVENTS;(D) ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING GENERAL AWARENESS AMONG THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE ISSUES ANDCHALLENGES FACING THE LIVES OF THE LGBT COMMUNITY IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT;LGBT STANDS FOR LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE, AND REFERS TO SEXUALORIENTATION AND GENDER RE-ASSIGNMENT, BOTH PROTECTED CHARACTERISTICS UNDER THE EQUALITY ACT2010 (HTTP://WWW.HOMEOFFICE.GOV.UK/EQUALITIES/EQUALITY-ACT/).[NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THEPROPERTY OF THE CHARITY FOR PURPOSES, WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE INACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT(SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND/OR SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERNIRELAND) 2008.
