THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:(1) THE RELIEF, REHABILITATION AND RESETTLEMENT OF FOREIGN NATIONALS AND IMMIGRANTS IN DETENTION IN HMP WANDSWORTH BY VISITING THEM IN PRISON TO DISCUSS THEIR NEEDS AND CONCERNS AND BY WORKING WITH THE PRISON AUTHORITIES AND OTHER SUITABLY QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS TO ACHIEVE THESE OBJECTS, INCLUDING THE PROBATION SERVICE, LAWYERS SPECIALISING IN CRIMINAL AND IMMIGRATION LAW, AND OTHER CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS WORKING WITH PRISONERS AND EX-OFFENDERS, THEREBY ALSO HELPING THE INTENDED BENEFICIARIES TO SECURE THE SUPPORT THEY REQUIRE BOTH IN PRISON AND AFTER THEIR RELEASE FROM PRISON; AND(2) TO PREVENT AND REDUCE CRIME BY ASSISTING THE INTENDED BENEFICIARIES’ REHABILITATION AND REINTEGRATION INTO SOCIETY AFTER RELEASE FROM PRISON, INCLUDING HELP IN FINDING EMPLOYMENT, HOUSING, AND CONNECTING THEM WITH OTHER CHARITIES AND ORGANISATION THAT SUPPORT EX-OFFENDERS AND HELP THEM TO REINTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY AS VALUED MEMBERS OF SOCIETY.
