3.1 THE RELIEF OF PERSONS IN NEED WHO FALL WITHIN THE DEFINITION OF POTENTIAL BENEFICIARIES BELOW BY THE PROVISION OF FUNDS, RESOURCES, EQUIPMENT OR OTHER SUPPORT FOR THEIR PERSONAL NEEDS. IN THIS CLAUSE 3.1 ‘POTENTIAL BENEFICIARIES’ MEANS:-(A) LIFE MEMBERS OF THE FORMER BALTIC EXCHANGE CHARITABLE SOCIETY (RCN: 277093) AND THEIR SPOUSES, CIVIL PARTNERS, WIDOWS, WIDOWERS, ISSUE OR OTHER DEPENDANTS; (B) PERSONS WHO ARE, OR HAVE BEEN, EMPLOYEES OF THE BALTIC EXCHANGE; AND(C) SUCH OTHER PERSONS WHO ARE, OR HAVE BEEN ENGAGED IN MARITIME ACTIVITIES INCLUDING THEIR SPOUSES, CIVIL PARTNERS, WIDOWS, WIDOWERS, ISSUE OR OTHER DEPENDANTS;AND WHO ARE IN NEED AS A RESULT OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, AGE, PHYSICAL OR MENTAL ILLNESS OR DISABILITY.3.2 SUCH PURPOSES AND OBJECTS BEING CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE.
