THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION AND RELIEF OF NEED FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AMONG PEOPLE WITH DOWN’S SYNDROME (AND THEIR FAMILIES) WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED ON THE GROUNDS OF THEIR DISABILITY, BY PROVIDING:• INFORMATION AND BESPOKE ACTIVITIES TAILORED TO SUPPORT AND ENABLE PEOPLE WITH DOWN’S SYNDROME (AND THEIR FAMILIES) TO MAXIMISE SOCIALISATION AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES WHILST RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ISSUES AFFECTING PEOPLE WITH DOWN’S SYNDROME BOTH GENERALLY AND IN RELATION TO THEIR SOCIAL EXCLUSION;• PROVIDING WORKSHOPS, CLUBS, EVENTS, ACTIVITIES, ADVOCACY AND A GENERAL SUPPORT NETWORK;• PROVIDING RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DOWN’S SYNDROME; AND• ANY OTHER MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES IN THEIR DISCRETION SHALL DETERMINE.
