(1) To hold, maintain and operate upon trust the property known as The Hut at Blogishay Lane primarily for the membership and beneficiaries of the Ashburton Branch of the Royal British Legion according to the rules thereof; the said Ashburton Branch of the Royal British Legion to be the principal tenants of The Hut in perpetuity. The Hut is not to be sold, leased, mortgaged or otherwise dealt with except by agreement with the Committee of the said Ashburton Branch of the British Legion.(2) Without prejudice to Object (1) above, to benefit the residents of Ashburton and the surrounding neighbourhood, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.In furtherance of these objects but not otherwise, the trustees shall have power to secure the establishment of The Hut at Blogishay Lane from the Royal British Legion and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of the Hut for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above objects
