The object of the CIO is to advance in life and help young people, particularly those living in sites of war, revolution, conflict and human rights abuses, through the medium of art, culture and community action, providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals, and to promote the protection and preservation of the environment and raise awareness of climate change, particularly where environmental degradation contributes to or arises from conflict.
