THE UNION'S OBJECTS ARE THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY:1) PROMOTING THE INTERESTS AND WELFARE OF STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KENT DURING THEIR COURSE OF STUDY AND REPRESENTING, SUPPORTING AND ADVISING STUDENTS;2) BEING THE RECOGNISED REPRESENTATIVE CHANNEL BETWEEN STUDENTS AND THE UNIVERSITY OF KENT AND ANY OTHER EXTERNAL BODIES; AND3) PROVIDING SOCIAL, CULTURAL, SPORTING AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND FORUMS FOR DISCUSSIONS AND DEBATE FOR THE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ITS STUDENTS.NB. Definition of "Student" - any individual who is formally registered for an approved programme of study of the University (as determined by the University).Definition of the "University" - the University of Kent, incorporated by Royal Charter on 4 January 1965 (as subsequently amended, or from the Transfer Date, the London and South East University Group (comprising the former University of Greenwich and University of Kent).Definition of "Transfer Date" - the date on which the University of Kent merges into the University of Greenwich, being 1 August 2026 (or such as other date as is determined).
