THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:3.1 THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON UPON THAMES BY:(A) THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF GENDER IDENTITY, GENDER EXPRESSION AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION;(B) ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS IN EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY AND THE NEEDS OF LGBT+ PEOPLE AND THE ISSUES AFFECTING THEIR LIVES AND THEIR COMMUNITIES;(C) PROMOTING ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN PEOPLE FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS; AND(D) CULTIVATING A SENTIMENT IN FAVOUR OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY.3.2 THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY WORKING WITH PEOPLE IN THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON UPON THAMES WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED ON THE GROUNDS OF THEIR GENDER IDENTITY, GENDER EXPRESSION AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION (IN PARTICULAR LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANS (“LGBT+”) PEOPLE) TO MEET THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO FULLY PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY, IN PARTICULAR BY:(A) PROVIDING A LOCAL NETWORK GROUP THAT ENCOURAGES AND ENABLES LGBT+ PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE MORE EFFECTIVELY WITH THE WIDER COMMUNITY; AND(B) INCREASING, OR CO-ORDINATING, OPPORTUNITIES FOR LGBT+ PEOPLE TO ENGAGE WITH SERVICE PROVIDERS, TO ENABLE THOSE PROVIDERS TO ADAPT SERVICES TO BETTER MEET THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE.3.3 THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF LGBT+ PEOPLE IN THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON UPON THAMES BY PROMOTING ACTIVITIES THAT HAVE A PROVEN BENEFICIAL EFFECT ON HEALTH AND WELLBEING.
