Charitable objects

(1) The prevention or the relief of poverty among people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the locality by: (a) identifying and serving their material and social needs; (b) providing advice and support to people who are homeless, including in respect of housing and employment; and (c) supporting and training members of local church communities to further objects (1) (a) and (b). (2) To advance the Christian religion in the locality for the benefit of people who are homeless by: (a) identifying and serving their pastoral and spiritual needs; (b) helping people who are homeless, if they choose to do so, to access and to participate in Christian teaching, worship and ministry; and(c) supporting and training members of local church communities to further objects (2) (a) and (b). (3) In this clause: (a) “the locality” means the City of Chichester and such other areas within England as the charity trustees may decide from time to time; and (b) “people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness” includes any person who is currently homeless, who is insecurely housed or who has previously been homeless.
