THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: I) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AMONG CHILDREN RESIDING IN SLUM COMMUNITIES IN EAST AFRICA IN PARTICULAR BY: A) PROVIDING OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS PROVIDING FACILITIES, SUPPORT AND ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES DESIGNED TO ENABLE THEM TO DEVELOP NUMERACY AND LITERACY SKILLS, INCREASE ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL AND IMPROVE THEIR END OF YEAR ACADEMIC SCORES. B) PROVIDING GRANTS TO ASSIST WITH FORMAL SCHOOLING, SCHOOL LUNCHES, TRANSPORT TO AND FROM SCHOOLS, UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT. II) TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE GOOD HEALTH AMONG CHILDREN RESIDING IN SLUM COMMUNITIES IN EAST AFRICA, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING SIGHT AND HEARING TESTS, SPECTACLES AND HEARING AIDS.
