THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:(1) TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING GLOBALLY APPLICABLE SOLUTIONS THAT ARE EFFECTIVE LOCALLY, AND IN PARTICULAR IN RURAL AND IMPOVERISHED AREAS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO WILDLIFE. THESE SOLUTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:PROTECTION OF WILDLIFEPREVENTION MEASURES SUCH AS HUMAN-WILDLIFE CONFLICT MANAGEMENT AND ANTI-POACHING;REHABILITATION OF ENVIRONMENTALLY DEGRADED AREAS; MANAGEMENT AND EXPANSION OF AREAS PROTECTED TO IMPROVE BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY;PROVISION OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVED LIVELIHOODS OF COMMUNITIES LIVING IN SIGNIFICANT WILDLIFE HABITATS; AND(2)TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, IN LOW-INCOME AND LOWER-MIDDLE-INCOME AREAS IN WHICH BOTH PEOPLE AND WILDLIFE LIVE, THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE; THE APPLICATION OF EDUCATIONAL EQUIPMENT AND TEACHING AIDS; THE TRAINING OF TEACHERS, AND THROUGH ADULT EDUCATION, TO IMPROVE AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROTECTION, REHABILITATION AND SUSTAINABLE UTILISATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT.
